About Me
- Name: Loreen Bliss
- Location: Delta, Utah, United States
Hi! Im a singer/songwriter (and mom) who has recorded 2 country music albums. Listen online at www.loreenbliss.com. I am happily married, meeting my husband, Tim, while attending Utah State University in Logan, UT. We both received our Bachelor Degrees, mine in Elementary Education, with a Music Minor, Tim, a dual major in Business/Ag Business. After graduation we moved to Texas where our first child was born. We owned a dairy there for a bit then moved back to Utah. Tim currently owns a dairy in a small Utah town, where we are busy with our 5 children. Our oldest was born in 1998, we had TWINS in 2001, our 4th child in 2006, and our latest addition was born in June of 2008. I was so excited when we decided to record my 1st album. I have always wanted to preserve my voice... share it with others in such a timeless fashion. Well, at 33, I lived this dream. Where it takes me, time will only tell. One day at a time. I'm not out to be famous, just to share my voice and my messages through my songs with as many people as I can reach. I have 3 blogs, one for me, one for family, and one for my tour. Enjoy and Keep Singin'!

I LOVE PERFORMING!!! (Plus the table stool story!)
One thing that I do like about my performances is how comfortable I look up on stage. I don't look nervous, and really I'm not, you can tell that I am having fun. I like interacting with the audience and the band. One thing that I don't like about me is that I really need to get better at playing the guitar. I love to play, but I don't feel as confident about that as I should. I can tell by watching. Hopefully the audience can't. I'm afraid that anyone who plays guitar well would notice. My voice was sounding good that night though, and for me that really is the most important. Thanks to all my supporters who came to the show in Midvale. Having friends and family there really meant a lot to me!!! Keep watching my tour page for updates on shows!
OK... here is the table story... My dear friend Maylon custom made a wooden stool for me. It is made out of old barn wood and looks so neat. He custom measured it and everything for me so it is just the right height so I can sit on it and the mic is still perfect and the rungs are just the right height for exactly where I need my feet so my legs are just the right height for playing my guitar....you get the picture. Anyway.... another custom fit is the seat. I told Maylon I wanted it big enough so my hips didn't hang over the edge... OK..so we measured it and made it just perfect. Well, when it was completed I took it home and set it down in the kitchen. My three year old boy twin took one look at it and said..."Cool, what a neat table!" OK...great, now my hips make a table! Nice. Don't ya love kids! I like my "momma hips"! And... I like my stool! Thanks Maylon! At least the audience got a laugh out of it. I really didn't intend on sharing this story with anyone (thanks Scott for bringing it up!) ... but it's always good to be able to laugh at yourself. And...for the audience to see how human you are!

TV Shoot at The Circuit
St. George Flood Victims Fund Raiser
There will be radio promotions throughout the day... I'll keep you posted on that. They want me to be a part of it, which I am excited for! I believe they start at 10 a.m. The event will start with my pre-show at 7:30 p.m. The rodeo grounds are actually over in Hurricane, which is a few miles north of St. George. See ya there!
ADDITION....... HEY---- FUN WEEKEND.... I'm adding this to invite you to view photos of this event. We had a good time in St. George. Tim got to hang with the kids in the hotel pool while I sang over at the radio promotion in Ashley Funiture's parking lot. Got pictures with the radio folk. Nice guys. Kids had fun at the rodeo that night, but we ended up leaving before the final round because they were getting crazy! (The kids, that is.) The PCBRA had a good crowd, and I had fun singing!

PCBRA
Hey, me again! Saturday was fun! Not a huge crowd, but we had a good time. If you like rodeos, and especially like to watch the bull riding... well then these are for you. All bull riding!
Of course, they have a great pre-show too! (hee hee).
Frustrating thing of the night... I was supposed to sing just before the final round too... but there ended up not being time, so I didn't get to sing my best songs I saved for then... Oh, well. I always have to roll with the punches, so to speak. Next time we are in St. George (on April 16th) we are going to schedule it better so I for sure get to sing then. I also believe the rodeo clown might be planning on making fun of me.....
See ya!

I played my guitar, and I had my lead guitar player, bass player, fiddle player, and mandolin player with me for this performance. Wish we could have had drums but they didn't allow enough time to set them up. Plus, the contestants needed the entire stage. The band members I brought really did a great job! Thanks Kerry, Kirk, Rebecca, and Joseph! We didn't have much time for a sound check but Tim (my husband) said things went well. We performed at Peteetnett (in Payson, UT...it's an Indian name) in the new section. Not as much character as the original building, but it works. I took my PeaVey sound system, and along with Kerry's amps things sounded pretty good.
Crazy event of the night: We were over in the old section of Peteetneet warming up. I had told Tim to come and get us, or warn us as things got closer, whatever...he was our eyes. We were told we were performing while the judges were making their decisions, so we had at least an hour or more before we were up. So I hadn't worried about getting ready yet (ie. check hair, put lipstick on, etc) Well, we had been rehearsing for oh, maybe 2o -30 min or so, when all of a sudden Tim runs in and says they were announcing us!!!!!! Woooohhh, talk about a bunch of musicians running down the hall. I was trying to put on my cordless mic at the same time. Well, no time for the nervousness to set in there. They never told us they had moved us up on the program. Yikes! Oh, well.... things still went well, and we really had fun.
I hate performing without lipstick on.
It was a fun evening and it was great to sell some CDs! Hope everyone enjoys my music.

Thanksgiving Point
In January, I was able to perform with my new Taylor, acoustic/electric guitar that I got for Christmas!!!! Wow, great sounding guitar! As far as band members: Check this out.... we had Marc, Michelle, Merlin, and Mark!!! What is with all the M's! (guitar, fiddle, drums, and bass). Funny. It was such a last minute performance. My producer asked if I wanted to sing the night before!!!! Usually that doesn't happen, but they had someone cancel last minute so they asked if I wanted to fill in! Heck yeah! We had the day of to go through everything together. I only sang three songs, so it worked out great!
I love performing there! The look, feel, sound, light, everything. There is even a signature wall...well walls really, where those who have performed there have signed. When my daughter Kylie sang with me at Christmas time, she even signed it. It was cute.... (I had to add her age: 6. That will be fun to look back on through the years.) What a great venue! I hope to be back again soon...
Actually I will perform there for the Utah County Fair in July! It will be great to be back! If you've never been to Thanksgiving Point you really need to check it out next time you are in Utah. I've got a link to them on my tour page on my music site.
Howdy!
This way, the blog stay focused!
I have a tendency to get off track and start talking about irrelevant subjects, like how I wish it were summer so we could go water skiing. Oh, man, you need to come to my town and try out our res! It has the best skiing in all of Utah! Oh, wait.....see what I mean, totally off track.
Thanks for coming!
